Airborne (this is old) part 1 of 3

Basic is a memory now. Thank God it's only that. A portion of my new brothers or "diablos" remain with me in Airborne school.

Today was the first day of actual training. It started with a PT test. Figuring that we as a whole are a bunch of Army, National guard, Marines, Airforce, and you name it... were the people trained enough to face anything as basic as a PT test. The very same that recruits do to pass basic.

I witnessed about 35 people lose their Airborne badge before they even got it. Later in the day, those who had failed the PT test had their bags already packed to go, to where only God know.

3 of our diablos were among the defeated. Running past them, I didn't have time to give any kind of sympathy, though I doubt I would have anyhow.

Training continued without missing a beat. We learned how to jump out of a mock-airplane, and what to expect. Most of the day consisted of running and jumping around... then more running.

...and more running.

By the end of the day, most of us still stand. I'm proud to be a part of this elite training. Tomorrow holds more and more of it. In 3 weeks, I'll be jumping out of actual airplanes. Should be a hell of a time.
